About Dr..
José Luis Marín's Professional Journey and Contributions
Educated at the Complutense University of Madrid, José Luis Marín studied psychiatry at the University of Ghent, Belgium, and deepened his studies in Psychosomatic Medicine at renowned institutions such as the Ospedale Civile in Vicenza, Italy.
Dr. Marín is the founder and President of the International Forum for Psychotherapy Training. He is currently the Honorary President of the Federation of Associations of Psychologists and Medical Psychotherapists of Spain (FAPyMPE) and coordinates the Working Group on Medicine and Psychotherapy at the Illustrious Official College of Physicians of Madrid.
Always interested in the application of psychotherapy in clinical practice, he has developed the Brief Psychotherapy model in Spain, currently considered one of the most effective and efficient. Through this methodology, as an educator, he has trained over 30,000 professionals worldwide.
A speaker at countless conferences and congresses in the Spanish-speaking world, he has also authored numerous scientific publications and directed research focused on the impact of stress and trauma on physical and mental health, promoting a biopsychosocial approach to psychiatric treatment.
His main areas of interest include the study of chronic stress, developmental trauma, and their association with mental disorders and illnesses such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and other chronic diseases. In his training programs, recognized by Universities and Professional Colleges, he has highlighted the importance of integrating attachment theory and early traumatic experiences into the understanding and treatment of bodily illnesses related to emotional suffering.
His work has been fundamental in making visible the relationship between mind, body, and social determinants in modern medicine and psychology, and he has promoted a more human and holistic approach to psychiatry, where psychotherapy plays a crucial role in addressing the deep causes of psychological and bodily suffering.

I really appreciate the input!
Highly recommended!
It's a pretty comprehensive and condensed course, I really liked Dr. Marín's presentation, perhaps I missed more practical examples of transference and countertransference interventions, as it's extremely easy to act out countertransference with these patients.
Excellent!
It's been an absolute honor to be able to take this course with you all! I'm so grateful for having made this journey with the best professionals.
I started the master's with this course and it seems to me an excellent way to introduce oneself to brief psychotherapy, very well explained and very complete in every sense. Truly great!
Satisfactory
I found this training to be very necessary and complementary for better understanding the mind-body relationship, that is, how processes go from top to bottom and bottom to top, and how the body expresses emotions at a somatic level, and on the other hand, Dr. Marín, who is a master full of experience, and who, with his closeness and good humor, accompanies you on this formative journey to better understand our patients in their complaints, their requests for help, and their life processes. Many thanks for this integration.
Hi. The course seemed to me to be most interesting, exciting, and stimulating. I couldn't wait to finish it, yet when I was about to, I felt like I wanted another module.... I am a Family Doctor and work as a Primary Care Pediatrician. A few years ago, I had patients in private psychotherapy practice after completing the Master's in Attachment Theory at UDG and the Expert Course in Brief Psychotherapy with Children and Adolescents taught by Begoña (another star!!). All these trainings help me a lot in my daily practice. The healthcare system is overwhelmed with families needing help with problems related to parenting, mental health pathologies, TA, and any training that helps improve these little ones and their caregivers will be of great help. Thank you for sharing your knowledge in this way. Greetings and a hug from afar from Tarragona.
I absolutely loved the course! As a psychology student, I've learned so much. The psychotherapy you teach and practice seems to me the best way to treat someone. I'll definitely be back for more courses with you. Thank you!
This course has provided me with a much deeper understanding of psychotherapy. I especially value the diversity of methodologies used for transmitting the concepts, such as slides, audiovisual material, specialized readings, and cinematographic references, which significantly enriched the learning process. Likewise, the clinical case proposed at the end of the course proved to be of great pedagogical utility, as it allowed for a concrete and applied observation of the integration of the theoretical concepts covered throughout the program. I deeply appreciate this training experience.
I liked Jose Luis's very enthusiastic way of presenting the topics. There's a collaborator who seems to have less experience in on-camera communication, which is a point to note. Overall, I give the training an excellent mark regarding content and materials provided. This is just my subjective opinion. Perhaps there's too much information, and often less is more.
A very enriching experience, with great classes taught by very good professionals, a real pleasure!
I loved the course! The material and content are high quality. Dr. Marín and his team are excellent professionals; their extensive experience is evident, and above all, their great sense of human warmth. Thank you very much for producing high-value educational material, besides being very interesting and entertaining.
I found it very enjoyable!
It has been a great course that has helped me to understand the course of brief psychotherapy in an informed, direct, and straightforward way.
I found this course very enriching. I learned a lot.
The course is pretty good for daily practice.
I found this course very interesting. The content seems very appropriate to me, and I can also implement it in my daily practice. José Luis and Begoña are extraordinary teachers who know how to convey information very well. The course format is very good, as I've been able to progress at my own pace, and the supplementary documentation is very enriching. I totally recommend it.
I had never had access to such high-quality and relevant information! Always careful to give us all the sources so we can form our own experience. 100/100!
I liked it. The professor is very good at explaining. I would have liked the approach to be more holistic and less scientific, but I understand that it's training for psychologists and not so much for complementary therapists. Nevertheless, I enjoyed many of the topics and will surely do some more.
This course has filled me with satisfaction and hope for my patients. I'm a recently graduated psychologist, and honestly, I wasn't sure how to start approaching patient problems, but now it's become more than clear to me, and they've also provided me with the formats I can use to gather all the necessary information. Thanks!
Thank you very much for the opportunity to provide this review. I am fascinated to have chosen this Master's and to be progressing module by module and course by course. I have never attended training so profound, practical, and meaningful, delivered with unparalleled human sensitivity. Very grateful to Dr. Marín and his entire team for this opportunity for real growth and from a totally integrative perspective that fully aligns with how I want to practice clinical psychology at all times. THANK YOU for the knowledge, the depth, and for making everything so enjoyable and motivating that it just makes you want to keep moving forward and growing. I can't wait to continue learning and growing as a therapist with you. Thank you very much again. Rocío Vila
The course content is excellent.
A great course. The quality of learning is excellent.
Very good course, very good explanations, and Dr. Marín was very approachable in his explanations.
I find this course very interesting and suitable, both for the approach and the documentation provided. Many thanks.
A very useful and interesting course that highlights both shortcomings and many opportunities for improvement in our work as professionals. The methodology is super comfortable, allowing you to go at your own pace. 100% recommendable!
Very happy with the content, I only miss a forum to resolve doubts and share with classmates, that's the only reason I don't give it 5 stars. Incredible all the complementary documentation and the suggestions for extra books and resources.
This training has touched me very deeply. The human and integrative perspective of psychosomatics has allowed me to look at the symptom differently: not as something to eliminate, but as a language trying to say something that hasn't yet found the right words. I take away a broader understanding of the human being, where body, emotion, and history are constantly intertwined. And, above all, I take away a new way of looking at (MYSELF): slower, more respectful, and more conscious. Although I am not a doctor, I feel that this learning first passes through me. It becomes a tool for understanding my own history, my ancestors, my relationships, and the people who accompany me day by day. It helps me to see beyond the obvious, to try to listen without haste, and to hold space without needing to correct... extrapolated to any area of life. I am left with something very simple and very profound at the same time: that accompanying isn't always 'fixing,' but knowing how to 'be there' and creating the space for things to happen. And that, sometimes, the body just needs someone to listen to what it's been trying to say for a long time.
I think it provides good tools and a very down-to-earth approach. I like that it doesn't hide the truth but allows us to choose a comforting illusion and be respectful of our patients' lives.
It's a course that has accompanied me in my reflection process on professional practice. Watching the classes allowed me to pay full attention to the content and rewatch them as many times as needed. I felt as if Jose Luis was speaking specifically to me, which facilitated integration in a context with elements of closeness. Likewise, it was very useful for me to have all the available materials to read and delve deeper into, all of them in an enjoyable, understandable, and precise language. The integrative therapeutic approach perspective is very comfortable for me to adapt processes to each person and to have a holistic, comprehensive, and respectful view of the human being and the discomforts of existence. I am grateful for the training and hope to continue learning with you.
So satisfying! I was looking for a course that would give me structure for my clinical practice, and I certainly got what I was looking for. Thanks!
I found it very useful.
I can only say that the course has been an incredible journey, accompanied mainly by Dr. Marín, as well as other professional colleagues who make the course a wonderful experience. I am enormously grateful for the work they are doing in training health professionals, as I consider it absolutely fundamental given the delicate and sensitive material we hold in our hands, part of our patients' lives. In my opinion, as a general health psychologist, I believe this training has been the start of a great adventure into which I am eager to delve deeper with the rest of the master's expert courses. A thousand thanks!
An excellent choice! All sessions are informative, enjoyable, and rich in learning. The additional material is very valuable. I feel very motivated to continue until completing the master's degree. Thank you.
This training has been a very valuable guide to understanding psychotherapeutic processes. Jose Luis is a wonderful communicator, approachable, kind, and direct. It has been a pleasure to take this course to add necessary knowledge to my practice as a therapist. Very complete with complementary documentation of great value.
I loved the course, José Luis's way of explaining makes it easy and enjoyable to learn. Thanks for allowing me to have a broader view of my daily life.
This has definitely been the course where I've learned the most so far! It's exceptional, I couldn't be more grateful!
Absolutely fantastic!
The course is magnificent in every way! The content is very precise and practical. The instructor is excellent. The material attached to each module is very comprehensive.
I really enjoyed it and there are so many things I'm going to incorporate into my approach. So grateful!
Yes. I really liked the course! The structuring of the topics and Jose Luis's critical attitude. Both the bibliography and the slides provided me with enough material to 'consider' a new style of care.
I think it's been a good choice. I'm finishing the course with the feeling that I still have a lot to learn by studying the included material. I've been surprised by the importance of the bond with the attachment figure in practically all facets of a person's life and I appreciate the consideration of people's mental, emotional, and physical aspects when working with them, up-down and bottom-up approaches... an accessible language and the extensive recommended bibliography! But, having said that, I also have to say that I was surprised by the lack of care in the layout of the course material itself, so much so that both presentations and texts include misalignments, senselessly cut tables, and diagrams that make parts of the texts illegible. The good thing is that it's fixable ;)
I consider this course to be of immense value. I'm a clinical therapist, and even so, to feel that one can learn so much from resources like this is pure bliss!
It has helped me to update interrelated concepts that I had researched through other therapies related to the illness.
Yes!
It has truly been wonderful, nowhere I've studied before had I learned such valuable and useful content, I am extremely satisfied, with a hand on my heart and a peaceful smile accepting uncertainty, but with great confidence in what I have learned. Thank you very much!
The course is very comprehensive, but I think I would have included more clinical cases and examples. I find it fundamental to have a supervision space. The course is very good, but it's difficult to apply it without a supervisor or mentor. It remains theoretical if there isn't human support to apply it. And it would be a shame because the course and the foundation it's built upon are wonderful, but it contains a lot of knowledge that needs to be studied, digested, and applied. And this needs to be done with time and support/supervision, otherwise it's difficult. Another option would be with colleagues who have already taken the courses and are applying them in their practice. But we don't have contact with other people who have taken the course and have years of experience applying it. It would be important for you to create a network of contacts. I'm not a big fan of screens and online courses. I liked this one because it's in video format and is very didactic, but it lacks presence, the ability to ask questions, to share questions, doubts... Lacking this, the network and supervision are essential. Thanks!
