Master in Brief Psychotherapy
Co-directors: Dr. José Luis Marín and Begoña Aznárez
The Master in Brief Psychotherapy is the school's flagship training program. This program brings together over forty years of scientific and clinical validation into a single therapeutic model, capable of generating profound transformations in reasonable timeframes. It is a demanding, integrative, and deeply human proposal for professionals who wish to move beyond generic psychotherapy and begin practicing effective psychotherapy.
International Context
International clinical research has revealed an uncomfortable truth: there is a minority group of psychotherapists, barely 25%, known as supershrinks, who achieve disproportionately superior results compared to the rest, regardless of their theoretical orientation. The question is, what does this 25% do that the other 75% doesn't? The answer is at the heart of this program.
Intervention Model
The intervention model teaches how to:
- Differentiate between the reason for consultation and the real problem.
- Master the specific techniques of the therapeutic process.
- Build solid therapeutic alliances capable of sustaining lasting changes.
Master's Content
Throughout the master's program, you will master:
- The neurobiological foundations of trauma through advanced EMDR.
- Reading the language of the body in psychosomatic manifestations.
- Competencies in specialized clinical assessment for precise interventions in affective, personality, psychosomatic disorders, and other clinical presentations.
You will specialize in techniques such as:
- Adaptive Information Processing (AIP)
- Working with the window of tolerance
- Theory of structural dissociation
- Mentalization techniques for complex cases
Program Structure
The program is designed as a modular training of six independent Expert courses, structured around a solid mandatory foundation and two electives that allow for specialization tailored to the professional profile.

Program Distinction
What distinguishes this program from other master's degrees in psychotherapy is not just its content, but the internal coherence of the model. Each course has been designed to interact with the others:
- Assessment informs planning.
- EMDR is integrated into the Brief Psychotherapy model as a powerful tool.
- Electives allow for specialization without losing the common framework.
Modality and Certification
The modality is completely online, with full flexibility to complete the courses sequentially or interspersed according to your professional pace.
- Each completed Expert course grants an accrediting diploma.
- Upon completing all six courses, you will receive the Master in Brief Psychotherapy Diploma.
- Two years of access to all video masterclasses, live video conferences for Q&A, and specialized documentation.
