Career and Professional Contributions of José Luis Marín
Trained at the Complutense University of Madrid, José Luis Marín studied psychiatry at the University of Ghent, Belgium, and deepened his studies in Psychosomatic Medicine at renowned institutions such as the Ospedale Civile in Vicenza, Italy.

Dr. Marín is the founder and Honorary President of the International Forum for Training in Psychotherapy. He is currently Honorary President of the Federation of Associations of Psychologists and Medical Psychotherapists of Spain (FAPyMPE) and coordinates the Working Group on Medicine and Psychotherapy at the Illustrious Official College of Physicians of Madrid.

Always interested in the application of psychotherapy in clinical practice, he has developed the Brief Psychotherapy model in Spain, currently considered one of the most effective and efficient. Through this methodology, as an educator, he has trained over 30,000 professionals from around the world.

A speaker at countless conferences and congresses in the Spanish-speaking world, he has also authored numerous scientific publications and directed research focused on the impact of stress and trauma on physical and mental health, promoting a biopsychosocial approach to psychiatric treatment.

His main areas of interest include the study of chronic stress, developmental trauma, and its association with mental disorders and diseases such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and other chronic illnesses. In his training programs, recognized by universities and professional colleges, he has highlighted the importance of integrating attachment theory and early traumatic experiences in understanding and treating bodily illnesses related to emotional suffering.

His work has been fundamental in making visible the relationship between mind, body, and social determinants in modern medicine and psychology, and has promoted a more humane and holistic approach to psychiatry, where psychotherapy plays a crucial role in addressing the deep causes of psychological and bodily suffering.

Lo que dicen sus alumnos

Experiencias reales.

Caught in this beautiful vision of psychotherapy.

I have completed two courses: Expert in Psychosomatic Medicine and Health Psychology and Expert in Eating Disorders. These courses have provided me with a stable, firm, and flexible foundation. They have given me energy and enthusiasm, providing knowledge that represents pieces of a puzzle.

However, the more pieces I acquire, the more I feel I am missing!

Nothing I have learned from them contradicts what I was already applying in my work, but it has transformed my perspective and functioning in psychotherapy. Every day that I absorb something new from them, I enter a professional crisis from which I ultimately grow.
