Margaret Wehrenberg.
PsyD, Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Margaret Wehrenberg, PsyD, is a licensed clinical psychologist and one of the most widely read authors on the treatment of anxiety and depression. A psychotherapist for several decades, she is the author of thirteen books, among them the bestselling The 10 Best-Ever Anxiety Management Techniques, its companion volume The 10 Best-Ever Depression Management Techniques, and her most recent work, Letting Go of the Work You Love. She has extensive training in the neurobiology of psychological disorders, and her teaching is known for its humour, its pragmatism and its insistence that clinical technique be usable in the next session.
About Margaret.
Licensed in Illinois and Missouri, Dr. Wehrenberg has combined clinical practice with writing and training throughout her career. Her work sits at the meeting point of neuroscience and everyday clinical pragmatism: she translates what is known about neural networks, stress hormones and the effects of adverse early experience into interventions a client can carry out between sessions, and she is explicit about the boundaries of what those interventions can and cannot do.
Alongside her books for clinicians, she has written for the general public, including The 10 Best Anxiety Busters, and produced Relaxation for Tension and Worry, a set of audio tracks on breathing, muscle relaxation and imagery for use with anxious clients. Her book Pandemic Anxiety: Fear, Stress, and Loss in Traumatic Times addressed the collective stress of those years and its consequences for mood.
She is a sought-after speaker for conferences and professional trainings internationally, consistently among the highest rated by experienced clinicians for the quality of her content and the clarity of her delivery. She is no longer accepting clients for psychotherapy, and devotes her professional activity to writing, speaking and training.
